The creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect but by the play instinct acting from inner necessity. The creative mind plays with the objects it loves.

Do you have any idea how much time, energy and focus went into this hairdo?
Let me tell you it was
considerable.
Yet – does recently-turned-ten year old Ruby regard it as onerously hard work? Not in the slightest. This is the beauty and joy of making art from a childlike place. A place of enthusiasm, where no pin or clip is too fiddly and no bows are spared.
(*Oh my goodness see poll results below)
I’ve always liked the Jung quote above
…the creative mind plays with the objects it loves.
Now I’ve found this one:
Without this playing with fantasy no creative work has ever yet come to birth. The debt we owe to the play of the imagination is incalculable.
Carl Jung
You can never have too many Jung creative play quotes.
